Martin Barletta, AFR General Manager in CT works very closely with the Foxwoods team.  “When working on the design of this gala, David wanted to have tables that were sleek and did not need to be covered with linens” said Barletta. “Our tables and bench ottomans allowed him to provide a seating environment that was different than the typical banquet rounds.”

Lindsay Cosimi and Sarah Florio, from AFR Orlando, recently worked with Richard Summers at launch (www.thelaunchgroup.com) on the Virgin Holidays Anniversary Celebration at Hard Rock Live in Orlando. “ In designing this event we wanted to make sure that every detail in the room captured the fun and modern groove of the Virgin Brand.  This was very important since Sir Richard Branson was attending.  As usual, my first choice for specialty furniture was Room Service, an AFR Event Furnishings Company.  I knew that their furniture with clean modern lines and bold colors would complement our red and white ultra – lounge environment,” said Richard Summers.  “The white S chairs we utilized were clean in design  and had a sexy curve that truly captured the look we desired. Under the fabulous direction of Miami’s account executive, Mandy Diaz, we pulled together a bunch of AFR’s original (and still best selling) items and whipped up an incredible photo shoot.   The weather was perfect for shooting outdoors and Mandy knew exactly what products and layouts to showcase to utilize this pristine setting!  Our Grammercy Charcoal sofas looked gorgeous against the green grass and brilliantly blue sky.   Accented with custom pillows, the setting was breathtaking.  We brought the Corica in closer to the building and it also looked beautiful against an idyllic outdoor setting.  As it got hotter and hotter, we decided to go indoors to show how our furnishings worked within “four walls.”  Utilizing the indoor event space, the Tuscany collection looked pristine.   Ideal for any hotel lobby setting, it popped there too!   We really were able to showcase the endless options these pieces provide.

This week were bringing you a back to back special on Photography. Although there are many element required for the success of an event we thought it would be great to spotlight yet again another photography company we can’t seem to get enough of. Rosy Usmani one of the many brilliant minds representing Damon Tucci Photography is this week’s Spotlight vendor. We love working with both Rosy and Damon Tucci Photography because they never fail to produce the most beautiful pictures. Rosy and Lindsay were introduced at a networking event through a mutual friend and immediately hit it off. Damon Tucci considers their photographic style “Stylized Fashion/Documentary” in which they edit to tell the story of the day. We asked Rosy a few questions, and this is what she had to say:

 1. How did you get into the photography field? How many years have you been in this profession? My father had a darkroom in our house. I use to help him develop photos. My father and grandmother were both advance amateur photographers. I have been working as a professional for 20 years.

2. How many events do you book per year? How many pictures on average do you shoot in a night or at a single event? We book about 30 weddings per year. We also write and speak nationally and shoot a handful of commercial/editorial assignments as well. I have an iphone app in development right now that we are real excited about.Typically we deliver 70 -100 edited images per hour for a wedding. We will capture 2 – 3 times that amount before we edit.

3. In your opinion how does furniture change an event? How do you incorporate furniture at an event into a shot? The furniture I have seen in events really gives a contemporary look to the event. It looks great in the photography but it also it brings the guests closer to the event.

For those of you out their lost when looking to hire a photographer Rosy suggests to look at style, personality, and budget, Also its always beneficial to look at the ability to produce consistent above average results in the face of any adversity. We love working with this company because they continue to produce consistent above average results in any adversity. They have the talent and ability to be able to portray people looking their best.

 4. What is your favorite event, vendor or venue you have worked with recently? What is your favorite place to shoot in Orlando? That is a loaded question as I have many vendors I love. Recently we were at the ringling museum in Sarasota. It was very cool (literally). In Orlando again I love many but I would say Ritz, Waldorf, and Portofino.

5. What is the best advice anyone has ever given you, or what is the best advice you would tell students coming into the industry or your field of work?To only compete with yourself. Unfortunately I don’t always heed this advice.
